About the Artwork:

"Even when sitting still there is a mischievous glimmer in this little pups eye. What is she scheming? I love watching animals. I don't know if it is their inability to vocalize what goes through their minds to us that makes me ridiculously curious, or just the cute factor, but I constantly find myself pondering their thoughts.." ... About the Artist:
Born in Oregon and the oldest of 5 children, Karen devoted much of her early years to drawing on any piece of paper she could get her hands on. When her family moved to Alaska she was exposed to a new, raw, and inspiring beauty that encouraged her love for art and nature. During the 20 years she spent in the Last Frontier, the landscape and the animals that resided in it were a constant source of inspiration for her paintings. Today her original art can be found in collections around the world and is featured in several US galleries. From her studio, and even the field, she creates her paintings with a love for light and vibrant color. She now lives in Washington state with her husband, Greg, and two young children where she continues to explore and be inspired by the nature that surrounds her home in the Pacific Northwest.
