The spectacular scene printed onto this wallet is inspired by a well known sculpture titled "End of the Trial". It depicts a windblown, physically exhausted Native American Indian slumped over on his horse. Weary from travel, his horse has had to carry the almost unconscious warrior the remainder of the way home unassisted by his master. Starting with a silhouette of the famous sculpture, a fantastic scene of vultures, eery tree branches and a low setting sun have all come together to create a masterpiece. With detailed stitching on the ground and engraved printing, this wallet is absolutely gorgeous.
Story behind the art:
Originally sculpted by James Earle Fraser in 1893, the End of the Trail is a detailed sculpture depicting an American Indian Warrior slumped over on his horse weary from travel. In 1968 the National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum acquired the plaster piece, had it cast in bronze, and returned to Mooney Grove Park, near Visalia, California.
